Winter Is Coming – 2018 Ski Season Opening Dates are announced

ski season

Summer Ski is fantastic but some of our S’No Queens are just as likely to be on a jet Ski as a ski slope in the summer months, but never fear S’No Queens… Winter is coming!

It may only be August but the 2018 ski season is getting ready to start with the newest 2018 fashions being released and now many of our favorite Ski Resorts are announcing their opening dates, some as soon as October 2017.

Val Thorens, France

Val Thorens in France is a popular Ski resort as it is Europes highest resort, and lucky for us they are opening up on the 18th November 2017, however, if you want to ski the impressive Trois Valleys you will have to wait until December the 9th 2016 when Courchevel, Les Menuires, La Tania and Meribel links reopen.

Ischgl, Austria

Ischgl hosts ones of the biggest parties of the season, the Top of the Mountain Festival on the 25th November 2017, so the Austrian Ski resort is opening just 2 days before this on the 23rd November.

S’No Queens and celebs all like to celebrate the start of the Ski Season here and past attendees have included Robbie Williams, Elton John and even the Beach Boys performing. If you want to go to this amazing party then you need to book in quick and get your most fashionable thermals ordered as this is an occasion you will want to sparkle at!

Val D’Isere, France

Val D’Isere is also opening on the 25th November, this will be a very exciting ski location as they are revealing their £170 million regeneration and the Espace Killy will provide access to 300 km of ski slopes for you to test out and conquer.

France is always a popular destination for S’No Queens as there are so many good winter locations only a short flight away from the UK. It really gives a new meaning to ‘Tour De France’, when S’No Queens go on tour!

Meribel, France

Queen B and her S’No Queens go to Meribel most years so we are very excited to hear that they are planning on opening on the 9th December 2017. A little later than some of the other ski resorts but certainly worth the wait. Meribel hosts beautiful chalet style buildings giving it a lovely friendly village feel, but most importantly it is central to the huge Trois Valley ski area.

Meribel also offers something for S’No Queens of all tastes so if you want upmarket chalets or self-catering also the apres ski scene is second to none.

Cervina Breuil, Italy

So far Cervina Italy is the ski resort that is opening the earliest, so if you can’t wait to start the 2018 Ski season jet over to the Italian ski scene for the 28th October 2017! Italy hosts some fantastic Ski regions and the Swiss slopes Zermatt shares some of its slopes with Cervina Breuil and is also hoping for a pre November opening date.

Cervina is Italy’s most snow sure region, and early forecasts look like they are right to be optimistic for this opening date.
